HEY COLUMBUS GA, DON'T TREAD ON ME!
Tomorrow I bring Columbus, Georgia into Tampa Federal Court where they will have to explain to a Federal Judge why they thought it was acceptable to violate my constitutional rights by entering/destroying private property and ignoring a Federal injunction.
If you haven't been following my case heres a synopsis, Columbus ga demolished 250+ affordable housing units of my private property, forcing my tenants to the street because the land became extremely valuable because of a department of transportation project and they seem to think this is their way to benefit.
But whatever the intention, this represents private property rights in this country under attack like never before. For example, the government regularly attaches unconstitutional conditions to individuals simply trying to use their own land. Until recently, the government forced people defending their property rights to go through an unconstitutional maze of state courts.
This country was founded in a fight over liberties as it relates to land, governments reach into land owners lives and in the last month of 2019 i will face off in court over a this battle that seems to never go away.
George Washington said;
“Freedom and Property Rights are inseparable. You can’t have one without the other.”
In the orginal fight against tyranny in this country the 13 colonies defending their land against an oppressive government created a flag that read "DON'T TREAD ON ME!" A proclamation to stay away from their Land, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness!
Today I echo those same words at a city government that has benefited too long by taking private citizens property for the benefit of an inner circle elite.
HEY SKIP HENDERSON AND THE WHOLE COLUMBUS CONSOLIDATED GOVERNMENT,
IN THE NAME OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING
DON'T TREAD ON ME!
